How to get to ONCE CDC

The ONCE Sports & Culture Centre (CDC) in Madrid is located in Paseo de la Habana Nº 208, about 6 km north of downtown and about 12 minutes from Chamartin Railway Station.

Getting from the Airport

Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport is located on the northeast of Madrid, Barajas district, only 12 kilometers from Madrid city centre.

By underground

There is a metro line from Madrid city to the airport terminal T4: Metro Line 8 Nuevos Ministerios - Aeropuerto T4. The line has two metro station at the airport: metro stations "Aeropuerto T1 T2 T3" and "Aeropuerto T4" there is a metro station called "Barajas".

At the airport, there are two metro stations:

      • The first one is “Airport T1, T2, T3” situated at the centre of the terminal T2 floor 1, situated at the centre of terminal T2 (Floor 1).
      • The second one is “Airport T4”, situated at terminal T4 (Floor -1).

 IMPORTANT:  Between the stations “Airport T1, T2, T3” and “Airport T4”, there is a metro station called “Barajas”.  Beware that this station is in the town, not in the airport

There are special service rates for the Airport T1-T2-T3 and Airport T-4 stations. Passengers travelling with Transport Season Tickets (excluding Interzone), Tourist Season Tickets and or AENA cards do not need to pay the special rate.

- Single Underground Ticket+Supplement Airport - 4,50 - 5 €

Permits entry and exit on journeys made between any Metro Zone A and ML1 station (Minimum price of €4.50 up to 5 stations; €0.10 per additional station, up to a maximum of €5 for journeys of more than 9 stations) and Airport T1-T2-T3 and Airport T4.

Holding a ticket valid for Metro zone A (Metro zone A single, Metrobús 10-trip passes and combined single tickets) must pay this supplement to get on or off at the Airport T1-T2-T3 or Airport T4 stations.

- Combined Single Ticket+Supplement Airport - 6,00 €

This ticket enables entry and exit on journeys between any of the Metro Zona A, MetroSur, MetroNorte, MetroEste and TFM stations, and the Airport T1-T2-T3 and Airport T-4 stations.

 - Airport Ticket Supplement Airport - 3,00

It is required for entry or exit at the Airport T1-T2-T3 and Airport T-4 station by passengers travelling with a valid ticket for the MetroMadrid (Single Metro Zona A, 10 Metrobus Journeys and Combined Single Ticket).

To travel from the Airport to the ONCE Sports & Culture Centre (CDC) in Madrid, we recommend you take the underground to Colombia (Line 8, 4 stops) and then take Line 9 (towards Paco de Lucía), arriving at Duque de Pastrana Station (2 stops) where your final destination is. The estimated time is 21 minutes.

Besides, the Nuevos Ministerios Station’s transportation hub connects with over fifty other stations by means of lines 6 (Circular), 8 (Nuevos Ministerios-Airport T4) and 10 (Hospital del Norte-Puerta del Sur) as well as with RENFE suburban train lines.

Madrid Metro tícket machines are bilingual with instructions in both Spanish and English.

Price:

      • Single: Minimum price of 1,50 € up of five stations; 0,10 € per additional station, up to a maximum of 2 € for journeys of more than 9 stations.
      • Metrobús (ten journeys): 12,20 €. This ten-journey ticket can be also used on the buses.

Remember: 

      • Children under four are free of charge.
      • Passenger travelling with a valid ticket for the MetroMadrid are required to pay a ticket supplement of 3,- € for entry or exit at the Airport T1-T2-T3 and Airport T-4 stations).
      • You must keep your transport ticket unit after the exit.
      • The metro is open to the public from 06:05 to 01:30 am every day.

 By bus

The Red EMT city bus line Nr 200 (T-1, T-2 and T-4) runs from the Airport to Avenida de América, where there is a transport hub that links by underground with Duque de Pastrana Metro Station (Line 9, 5 stops).

The line 203 or Exprés Aeropuerto (Airport express) is the express line connecting the Atocha train station and the airport of Madrid-Barajas. The bus runs 24 hours 365 days a year.

Atocha bus stop (beginning/end of route) works only in daytime, 6:00h to 23:30h. Overnight, bus stop beginning/end of route is in central Madrid (Cibeles), and the bus is renamed as N27 Exprés Aeropuerto.

Fast bus connecting Avenida de América (transport Hub) and the airport.

Schedule: 5.00h to 23.30h. Bus every 10-20 minuts.

The buses from the Airport to Avda. América run between 05:10 and 23:30 hours, every twelve to fifteen at peak times.

Price: Single: 1,50 € (valid for just one journey); metrobus (ten journeys): 12,20 €. This ten-journey ticket can be also used on the underground network. Children under four are free of charge.

Line Express Bus – Airport Express

There is an accessible bus service (24 hour-express service, yellow bus) running from the Airport to Atocha Railway/Underground Station (transport hub), every 15 or 20 minutes during the day and every 35 minutes during the night.    Travel time is between 30 and 40 minutes, depending on traffic and airport terminal. The fare for this express service is 5,- € (luggage is carried free).

By taxi

 There are several public taxi ranks, distributed over all airport terminals.  They are located at:

      • T1 floor 0. Arrivals.
      • T1 floor 1. Departures.
      • T2 floor 0. Arrivals.
      • T2 floor 2. Departures,
      • T3 floor 0. Arrivals. 
      • T4 floor 0. Arrivals.
      • T4 floor 2. Departures. 

There are taxis available non-stop, around the clock. 

Price is 30,- € (flat rate for Madrid Taxi Services from the airport to anyplace in Madrid area – within the boundaries of 30th street or bypass road M30- like Paseo de la Habana). No supplements can be added to this flat rate fare, which is also not eligible for the maximum rate for services booked online or by phone, provided the passenger is present at the meeting point at the agreed time.

Official taxis are white with a red stripe and have the Madrid City Council coat-of-arms on their doors.   Avoid people who offer taxi services inside the terminals. Make sure that the taxi driver starts the meter at the beginning of the journey (minimum fare) and ask for a receipt in the event of a complaint.
